KIJIJI CUP
The Kijiji Cup is our flagship annual sports event that unites communities across Samburu County through competitive and inclusive tournaments. The games bring together youth, women, and persons with disabilities to promote teamwork, peace, and social cohesion.
Each edition features a vibrant lineup of sports — football, volleyball, basketball, and PWD volleyball (sitting volleyball) — attracting teams from villages, schools, and local clubs.
Beyond competition, the Kijiji Cup serves as a powerful platform for talent development, community dialogue, and social impact, addressing key issues such as education, gender equality, and youth empowerment through sport.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The Community Outreach Program extends the impact of Kijiji Cup beyond the field by using sports as a gateway to social awareness, education, and empowerment.
Through targeted school visits, mentorship sessions, and village forums, the program addresses critical community needs — including education access, sexual and reproductive health rights, menstrual hygiene, and youth leadership.
Our outreach initiatives have reached hundreds of young people and women in Samburu, equipping them with life skills, confidence, and opportunities for civic engagement. By combining sports with education and dialogue, we are building stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
PAD-BANK
The PADBANK Project is an initiative dedicated to promoting menstrual health and dignity among girls and women in Samburu County. Through this program, we provide menstrual hygiene kits and conduct awareness sessions on reproductive health and body confidence.
Each year, over 1,000 girls benefit from access to safe and reusable sanitary products, reducing school absenteeism and breaking the stigma around menstruation.
Beyond distribution, PADBANK fosters open conversations within schools and communities — empowering girls to stay in school and helping boys and men become allies in advancing menstrual health rights.
TVET/HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP
The Kijiji Cup Scholarship Program supports bright and deserving students from vulnerable backgrounds to access secondary and technical (TVET) education.
Through this initiative, we identify promising young talents — especially those actively engaged in our community sports and outreach programs — and provide them with tuition support, mentorship, and career guidance.
Since inception, the foundation has sponsored eight students through high school, ensuring they not only continue their education but also become role models within their communities.
By investing in education, we nurture the next generation of leaders equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills to drive positive change in Samburu and beyond.
ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE
The Environmental Justice Program empowers communities in Samburu to protect and restore their natural environment while promoting sustainable livelihoods.
Through tree planting campaigns, clean-up drives, and climate education during Kijiji Cup events, we engage youth and women as environmental champions who take action against the effects of climate change.
Our approach links sports with sustainability — transforming playgrounds, schools, and villages into greener, cleaner spaces. By fostering environmental awareness and stewardship, we aim to build a generation that values conservation, resilience, and shared responsibility for a sustainable future.
